Jocelyn Erickson hit a home run, drove in three runs and scored twice as Florida won game two to force a third game.
Erickson supplied the game’s biggest swing, finishing with one home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. Madison Walker matched the long-ball threat with a home run of her own, drove in three runs and scored once. The offense did not rest on those two: Kenleigh Cahalan added a double, drove in two runs and crossed the plate three times, while Taylor Shumaker and Ella Wesolowski each delivered a double as well.
The box of contributions is deeper. Shumaker scored twice, Wesolowski had one RBI, Gabi Comia added an RBI, and both Townsen Thomas and Cassidy McLellan reached the scoreboard with one run apiece. The collective output gave Florida multiple extra-base hits, a spread of RBIs and enough runs to extend the series.
Texas Tech’s game report, titled "Florida wins game two, forces a third game," lists the Florida hitters’ numbers that night: two home runs, three doubles among the lineup and a cluster of run producers who pushed the team across the finish line in game two.
The statistical picture is striking for its balance. Two different players supplied homers; three different hitters recorded doubles; and RBIs came from Erickson, Walker, Cahalan, Wesolowski and Comia. That distribution means the win was not the product of a single breakout performance but a series of small, timely contributions that together flipped the contest.
That balance is also the tension. A team that can roll multiple hitters into the scoring column is harder to stop, yet Florida still needed a full complement of those contributions to force a deciding game. The series remains unresolved precisely because the offense was broad enough to survive but not so dominant that it closed the matchup in two.
Erickson’s night, however, will be the one replayed before the deciding contest: a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored make her the standout figure from game two. Her production gives Florida a clear offensive anchor to build around as the teams head to the third and deciding game in the ncaa series.
