President received former Senate President at his residence in on Sunday and again yesterday, days after Anyim announced him as the winner of the APC presidential primary. The meeting came barely 48 hours after Anyim, who served as the Returning Officer and Chairman of the APC Presidential Primary Elections Committee, read out the final result in .

At the Abuja event, Anyim declared Tinubu the winner of the nationwide direct primary at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre. The figures he announced showed 12,643,306 registered voters, 11,069,756 accredited voters and 11,015,665 votes cast. Tinubu polled 10,999,162 votes, while Stanley Osifo got 16,503.

Tinubu also held separate meetings yesterday at his Lagos residence with Ogun State Governor , Ondo State Governor and Cross River State Governor . Abiodun later presented the official results of the APC primaries for Ogun East Senatorial District to the president, adding another layer to a day of back-to-back political audiences.

The timing matters because the meetings followed Tinubu’s victory in the APC primary for the 2027 general election and underscored how quickly the party moved to consolidate around him. It also came during a period when Adewole Adebayo was openly criticizing Tinubu over insecurity in Nigeria, saying he should resign if he cannot protect Nigerians.

Anyim’s visit to the president stood out because it brought together the man who announced Tinubu’s landslide primary victory and the candidate who had just been formally returned as the party’s flag bearer. The sequence leaves little doubt about where the ruling party is heading next: straight into the 2027 race with Tinubu at the center of it.
