Mayowa Lambe has issued a cease-and-desist notice to Roby Ekpo, demanding that he retract his public statements, apologize and pay N100 million in damages within 48 hours.
The notice, dated April 22 and signed by K. Umoh Esq., was posted on the official X account of Yolanda George-David, founder of Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation. It was issued through the foundation’s legal department after Ekpo appeared on The Honest Bunch podcast and spoke about the collapse of his marriage to Lambe.
In the podcast appearance, Ekpo alleged that Lambe left him for another man after he financially supported her while she was abroad, said he regularly sent her money for more than six years and claimed she secretly used contraceptives during the marriage. He also alleged that she traveled to Miami for a BBL procedure and said he learned she had remarried in Texas, in the United States, after seeing videos and pictures on Instagram. Lambe, in the notice, said she and Robert Ekpo were no longer married and stated that the relationship between them had “mutually terminated” in May 2025.
The notice said Ekpo’s comments caused reputational damage, online harassment and public ridicule, and said Lambe had verifiable evidence of her financial responsibilities and contributions throughout the relationship. It warned that failure to comply within three days could lead to legal proceedings and threatened aggravated damages, injunctive relief and criminal complaints to the appropriate authorities.
The dispute now runs in both directions. Ekpo said he intended to petition the United States government against Lambe over alleged marriage fraud and said he would submit evidence to US authorities, including the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. The pair married in November 2015 after meeting on Instagram, and the public fight over how that marriage ended has now moved from a podcast to a legal threat.
David Abraham, whom Lambe identifies as her new husband, has also stepped into the public view. He said, “The path to greatness leaves no room for weakness, only strength. The ones in my corner understand me. I don’t owe explanations, and that’s enough.” He also said, “Falsehood may travel fast, but truth arrives with consequences.”
