Sporting Clube de Braga published detailed supporter information today for the trip to Rio Maior for Thursday’s match against Casa Pia AC, instructing supporters travelling by bus to gather at 14h00 at the Alameda do Estádio Municipal de Braga with buses departing at 14h15.
The club said bus boarding will be done upon presentation of the purchase receipt and that bus-seat sales end today, with extended hours until 23h00. Supporters travelling by private car were told to park near Porta 8, where authorised parking will be available, and that access to the away sector will be through Porta 8. The stadium gates will open one hora before kickoff, tickets bought through the Continente platform will allow access to the away sector, and ticket sales at SC Braga official stores end tomorrow at 13h00. Corresponding members who still need a ticket can contact José Gomes at 931 161 959 to purchase one.
The club also set rules for what can be taken into the away sector: support materials such as flags and banners are allowed if they do not exceed 1,00m by 1,00m. Stadium bars will accept payment by multibanco. The logistics bulletin is a practical reminder for braga fc supporters that a handful of simple deadlines and receipts will determine who gets to travel and sit in the away end this week.
The match itself carries extra context. The fixture had been postponed because of Sporting de Braga’s Europa League second leg against Ferencváros, a tie Braga won 4-0. That run in Europe and a congested domestic calendar leave the club carrying a heavy schedule — Carlos Vicens noted Braga will play their 54th match of the season against Casa Pia and that the team would pass 60 matches this season — while Casa Pia fight to avoid the play-off places and arrive off a sequence of seven league matches without a win.
Still, Vicens warned of the danger posed by the hosts and stressed the stakes in blunt terms. "Eles têm cinco jogos para tentar sacar o maior número de pontos e, independentemente do rival que terão pela frente, já mostraram que o podem fazer diante de equipas do mais alto nível do futebol português. Não tenho dúvidas que vão encarar este jogo como se fosse uma final, gerindo bem os tempos do jogo à sua maneira, colocando um jogo lento por momentos e teremos que nos impor com a nossa ambição, energia e capacidade de competir," he said, underlining that Casa Pia will not surrender points lightly.
Vicens tempered that warning with the practical strains inside his own camp. "Estamos muito focados neste último mês, em que praticamente não há descanso, para darmos a melhor versão a cada três dias. Colocamos muito foco na recuperação e na análise para dar a informação aos jogadores e nunca utilizaremos o calendário como desculpa, mesmo não estando a 100 por cento," he said, acknowledging injuries to Niakaté, Barisic and Diego Rodrigues while confirming squad options. He added that Zalazar has been training normally with the team for almost a week and should be called up, and that Gabri Martínez should also be available after serving a suspension against Famalicão.
There is a sharp tension in Vicens’s account: Casa Pia have not lost at home in the league since 29 November, yet they arrive without a win in seven rounds — a contradictory form line that turns Rio Maior into a trap for teams expecting an easy three points. "O meu foco está única e exclusivamente no jogo de amanhã [quinta-feira], que nos vai apresentar dificuldades suficientes para que não desviemos a nossa atenção, também porque o quarto lugar está por confirmar e temos que somar o maior número de pontos por isso," he said, stressing both the immediate challenge and Braga’s league ambitions.
For supporters the immediate story is logistical: bus-seat sales close tonight at 23h00, store sales end tomorrow at 13h00 and access to the away sector will hinge on receipts, Continente tickets or contact with José Gomes at 931 161 959. For the team the story is strategic: a packed schedule, a handful of injuries and the possible returns of Zalazar and Gabri Martínez will shape how Vicens rotates and chases the points that can improve Braga’s league position.
