will temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals on the BNB Smart Chain, or BEP20, beginning at 5:55 a.m. on May 5, 2025, in a maintenance window the exchange did not say when would end. The pause covers all BEP20 token transfers, including BNB, BUSD and other assets on the network.

Trading on Binance , and markets will continue normally, and only on-chain movements through BEP20 are being halted. Binance said the work is a preventive measure meant to upgrade security protocols, optimize infrastructure and patch potential vulnerabilities, and it said user funds remain safe during the process.

The move matters because Binance is the main gateway for BSC tokens and handles more than 60% of all BSC transaction volume. Binance routinely performs wallet maintenance on its networks, and the company scheduled this one for early Sunday UTC to limit disruption.

Binance has framed the interruption as standard maintenance, not a security breach, and it will affect no other networks, including ERC20, TRC20 or Solana.
