The National Youth Service Corps has approved Thursday, May 21, 2026, for the passing-out of 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members, marking the final phase of their one-year mandatory national service.
The announcement was made on Monday by the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, who said activities heralding the event will begin on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Those activities will include job advisory and counselling by the NYSC and other relevant agencies, along with the signing of final clearance by Zonal Inspectors.
Embu said the low-key event will also feature the distribution of Certificates of National Service to deserving corps members in local government areas across the country. The date closes out the service year for the stream of corps members deployed in 2025, after a cycle that included the usual checks and clearance required before exit.
NYSC Director-General Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu wished the corps members a successful winding-up and passing-out exercise. He also urged them to allow the core values of the scheme to guide their post-service relationships as good ambassadors of the National Youth Service Corps.
The schedule leaves little mystery about what comes next. From May 5, the corps members move into final clearance and counselling, and by May 21 they leave the scheme with their certificates in hand.
