Audi has shown the 2027 Audi Q9, its biggest SUV to date and the new top model in the Four Rings lineup. The company is leaning hard on the cabin, not the drivetrain, as it presents a three-row flagship built to carry up to seven people.
The interior is set up like a modern travel lounge. Up front, a large screen landscape dominates the first row, while the newly designed variable center console adds two wireless charging options using the Qi2.2 standard and USB-C charging ports with up to 100 watts. Audi says the space is conceived as a retreat for family, business and long journeys, a pitch reinforced by new fabric and wood applications and fresh colors that include tamarindenbraun and steinbeige.
The Q9’s practical touches go beyond the seats and screens. A standard panoramic sunroof measuring around 1.5 square meters is meant to open the cabin further, and the trunk gets a side-integrated aluminum rail system with movable hooks and adjustable securing eyes for cargo securing. That makes the new flagship sound less like a status exercise and more like a vehicle trying to cover the awkward middle ground between executive transport, family duty and long-distance comfort.
That focus on the interior is the story’s tell. Audi is presenting the Q9 as its largest SUV and top model for 2027, but this first look offers no powertrain or pricing detail, leaving the most consequential questions for later. For now, the message is clear: the 2027 Audi Q9 is meant to be the brand’s roomiest and most polished answer for buyers who want one vehicle to do nearly everything.
